Masdar Institute Phase II continues the sustainability vision of the campus’ existing buildings and the unique environment that is fostering cutting-edge research and development. It further strengthens the academic, research and lab facilities of the university’s first phase, while also adding new resources to serve the campus and the wider city.

Artist Impression: Masdar Institue Phase II, Masdar City Phase II provides another 45,000sqm of construction floor area and is comprised of seven new buildings: three lab buildings, three residential buildings, and a recreation and activities building that includes a swimming pool and a large multipurpose hall for conferences and concerts. This latter building will be the iconic structure of the Institute’s Phase II, much as the Knowledge Centre is the most architecturally dramatic building in Phase I.
In the undercroft below street level, there will be seven additional hi-bay labs, including radio-frequency shielded and imaging labs, and a satellite workshop, as well as two FRT loading bays.
